Chemical Peel Mount Dora – The Benefits of Chemical Peels

The Importance of Chemical Peel Treatments

There are many great skin benefits to chemical peels and Autumn is the perfect time to start a chemical peel series. As the colorful Autumn leaves begin to fall and show us the beauty of removing of the old to make way for the new, we can do the same with our skin!! Chemical skin peels are great for healing acne, evening skin tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving the appearance of scars, and generally leading to a healthy glow. This is done through the use of specific chemicals that remove the damaged and dead outer layers of the skin and also help heal the skin.

Chemical skin peels are great for healing:

  • acne
  • evening skin tone
  • reducing fine lines and wrinkles
  • improving the appearance of scars
  • Improving skin glow

This is done through the use of specific chemicals that remove the damaged and dead outer layers of the skin and also help heal the skin.

How Can Chemical Peels Aid Acne?

The word ‘chemical’ might not sound appealing, but rest assured that the actual chemicals are not that scary.

Trained skin care professionals, like here at Svetlana’s Esthetics, will apply the appropriate mixture of chemicals to meet your skin’s needs! Many of these chemicals are commonly used in the average acne product (such as Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids) but instead, are used in the correct mixtures and concentrates to remove full layers of dead skin cells.

For example, a level 1 acne lift solution (such as the “acne lift solution” IPeel by Image Skincare that we use!) is a mixture of Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Beta Hydroxy Acid, plus an anti-inflammatory in order to remove acne and help heal acne lesions. While a peel such as the IPeel “beta lift solution” uses BHA only treatment in order to treat more severe breakouts. Other treatments, such as peels to reduce wrinkles use ingredients such as glycolic and retinol (Try the IPeel wrinkle lift solution for this!).

Are there any side effects?

There are some common side effects, such as sensitivity to the sun, mild irritation, and redness, depending on the level of peel. However, peels are also fairly quick and easy and professionals will understand the importance of aftercare. Most people walk away feeling refreshed!

For best results, we recommend getting a series of about 6 peels (we personalize the series to your skin!).

The lighter peels are done once every 2 weeks, while the stronger peels are done once every 4 weeks.

Call now and make an appointment to get started on your personalized Image Skincare IPeel series and start the season with beautiful skin!
